- ERWIN - C. H. McKinney, age 81, of Erwin, passed away on Friday, February 15, 2019 at his home. A native of Newland, NC, C. H. is a son of the late Hayden and Dora Belle (Hughes) McKinney.
He retired from White's Fresh Foods as a Produce Manager. He attended Lighthouse Baptist Church and enjoyed coon hunting, rabbit hunting and gardening. In addition to his parents, C. H. is preceded in death by one sister, Kathleen McKinney Ballas.
C. H. McKinney leaves behind to cherish his memory: Wife of 58 years: Patricia Faye (Higgins) McKinney; Children: Pam Wiseman, Dezaray McKinney, Steven McKinney, Larry McKinney;
Grandchildren: Jade Wiseman Hodge, Rylan Smith; Great grandchildren: Kinley Hodge, Grayson Hodge, Laykin Hodge, Ashlyn McNally, Alexis McNally; Sisters: Zella Kanam, Carolyn White, Angleen Suarez; Several nieces and nephews; Special friends: Leonard Yates,
Ralph Higgins.
The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of C. H. McKinney in a funeral service to be held at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 in the chapel at Valley Funeral Home. Reverend Aaron McClain and Reverend Burnie Jones will officiate. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 5:00 PM on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 and will continue until service time in the chapel at Valley Funeral Home. A committal service will be held in Evergreen Cemetery at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, February 20, 2019. Those attending the committal service will meet at Valley Funeral Home by 12:30 PM to go in procession. Serving as active pallbearers will be: Steven Lee McKinney, Larry Hayden McKinney, Dwayne Bennett, Fred Horning, Chris White and Billy Horning.
