- Doris Troutman, 88, of Hampton, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 10, 2018, from Life Care Center of Elizabethton. Doris was born in Carter County to the late Frank and Sallie Main Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, Guy Troutman, and several brothers and sisters.
Doris was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Rittertown Baptist Church where she was the choir director for over 30 years. Doris was a member of Eastern Star and enjoyed genealogy and loved singing praises to the Lord.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Anthony Troutman and wife Debbie of Hampton; two granddaughters, Allison and Cyndie and her husband Travis; and five great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A service to celebrate the life of Doris Troutman will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, December 13, at Rittertown Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Stout officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 2 until 3:30 p.m. Thursday, prior to the service. The graveside service will follow in the Rittertown Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to Rittertown Baptist Church Building Fund, 822 Rittertown Road, Hampton, TN 37658. The family would like to thank the staff of Life Care Center of Elizabethton for the love and care shown to Doris during her illness.
