- ERWIN — Mrs. Lillian Tolley, age 94, formerly of 521 Holston Avenue, Erwin, died Thursday, January 5, 2006, in the Erwin Health Care Center.
She was a lifelong resident of Unicoi County and a daughter of the late Bill & Lulu Nelson Salts. Mrs. Tolley was a former employee of Southern Pottery. She was a member of Evergreen Free Will Baptist Church.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Tolley, in 1975; two sisters, Elizabeth Stapleton and Ruth Rothgeb.
Survivors include one son & daughter-in-law, Edwin W. & Jane Tolley, Erwin; one daughter & son-in-law, Janice & D.C. Byrd, Erwin; two brothers & sisters-in-law, Ray Salts & wife, Louise, Gray, J.B. Salts & wife, Ruth, Erwin; five grandchildren, Chris Tolley, Erwin, Steve Byrd & wife, Evelyn, Philippines, Pam Bailey & husband, Mike, Unicoi, Shari Jennings, Kingsport, Sandy Hensley, Erwin; three great grandchildren, Jason Broyles, Corey Bailey, Cole Bailey; three step- great grandchildren, Manuel, Gabriel, Michael; Several nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.
Funeral service for Mrs. Tolley will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday from the Ledford Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Larry Tolley and Reverend Harold Blankenship will officiate. Music will be provided by Donette Hahn and Inez Chandler. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
