- Dexter Dean (Doc) Trivette, age 83, of US Hwy 321, Sugar Grove, passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at Watauga Medical Center. Born in Watauga County May 14, 1935, he was a son of the late Roy Lee and Isabell Trivette. Dexter was an electrician and a farmer. He was a co-owner of Mountaineer Electric for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Willrea Ward Trivette of the Foley Center in Blowing Rock, two daughters, Brickie Townsend and husband Bennie of Mountain City, and Vickie Trivette of Vilas, seven grandchildren, Anthony Townsend and wife Tonya of Mountain City, Bradley Townsend and wife Sage of Navarre, FL, Hadley Townsend and wife Amy of Elizabethton, TN, Stana Coffey of Boone, Karla Arnold and husband Van of Mountain City, Shannon Coffey of Blowing Rock and Josh Trivette of Zionville, nine great grandchildren one sister, Lennis Snyder and husband Allen of Mountain City, one sister in law, Glenda Hodges of Boone and one brother in law, Linville P. Ward of Boone, and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Rickie Dee Trivette, three sisters, Nellie Stephens and husband Steve, Blanche Carter and husband David and Orbie Ward, and one brother, Dennis Trivette.
