- Ruby Caroline Graybeal Calhoun, 92, passed away May 28, 2009 in Pacolet, South Carolina.
She was born March 28, 1917 in Newland, NC to the late Conley Clinton and Dora Tolley Graybeal.
She married Henry Goodson Calhoun and they relocated to Louisville, Ohio, where they were Charter Members of the Louisville Baptist Temple and Henry worked and then retired as a machinist. After Henry's retirement they moved to St. Augustine, Florida where they lived until Henry passed away in 2005 after 71 years of marriage.
Ruby was a strong and determined woman, who loved her family and was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to garden and listening to gospel music.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Calhoun; a daughter, and a great granddaughter.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, a daughter, Marylin Dover, and her husband, John, of Pacolet, SC; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and nine great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Calhoun will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 31, 2009 from the Grandfather Chapel of the Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home with the Rev. John Moody officiating.
Interment will follow in the Fork Mountain Cemetery.
