- Luther was the son of Sherman Alexander and Callie Elizabeth Johnson Wallace. He was a charter member of the Hampton Masonic Lodge No.750 F.&A.M. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He retired from Beaunit Corp.in 1959. He was also a farmer. He was married for 58 years to Lillian Belle Stevens Wallace. They had 3 sons, Arnold Vernon, Gene B., Cail Richard and 4 daughters, Thelma Bell, Erma Burgess, Beatrice Hyder and Wilma Roberts.
