Alfred Miller, deceased, killed March 1 1864 by a rebel soldier in Washington County. Additional defendants: James Melvin, James Crumley, Rutledge Peoples, and George King. Carr sued defendants for: wrongfully asking and entering Miller's house in his lifetime, unlawfully searching his house and premises, illegally arresting and imprisoning Miller, and for causing Miller's death by their wrongful acts and omissions to plaintiff for $50,000 damages.
