- Mr. Guinn was a native and lifelong resident of Unicoi County and the son of the late John Wesley and Zipporah Taylor Guinn.
He was employed with the Erwin Post Office as a carrier and clerk before retiring in 1969, due to ill health, after 30 years of service.
Mr. Guinn was a member of the First Baptist Church of Erwin. He was a World War II Veteran, having served in the Army Medical Corps. He was a member of the Erwin Centennial Lodge #491 F & AM and also was a member of the American Legion.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Orville and Theodore Guinn and by sister, Iva Guinn Foster.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel C. Guinn: four sisters Gertha Edwards, Lena Hensley, Oneda Martin and Jessie Chandler.
