- ELIZABETHTON - Kenneth Colbaugh, 80, Elizabethton passed away Friday, October 12, 2018 at the Johnson City Medical Center. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Arthur & Nannie Pearl Forbes Colbaugh. He was retired from North American Rayon Corporation. Kenneth served in the United States Army having served in Korea. He was a member and Deacon of New Liberty Free Will Baptist Church. He was very proud of being a Christian and an US Army Veteran. This was evidenced on his 80th birthday cake which depicted an American & Christian flag, the two things in his life he cherished. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters: Virginia "Tootsie" Peters and Louella Colbaugh and a brother: Powell Colbaugh.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 56 years: Carolyn White Colbaugh, his daughter: Susan Marie Colbaugh. Two Sisters: Ruby "Peanut" (Frosty) Bowers and Linda Simerly. Three Brothers: Jessie (Brenda) Colbaugh, Rev. Ray (Loretta) Colbaugh and Lester Colbaugh. Several nieces & nephews.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Sunday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Ray Colbaugh and Rev. Nick Colbaugh officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will be at 11 a.m. Monday, October 15, 2018 in the Blevins Cemetery. Music will be provided by Laura Coleman and Joy Shoun. Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:20 a.m. Monday will be: Paul White, Kevin Peters, Andy White, Jr., John White, James Monroe, David Bowers, Gary Colbaugh, Dennis Peters, Tony Jones and Kevin Colbaugh. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Wayne Peters, Eugene "Frosty" Bowers, Shona Lowe, Gale Colbaugh, Don Hardin, Mike Hodge, Mack Smith, A.D. "Sonny" Fletcher, Charles Shelton, John Salyer, W.C. Shelton, John Fulton, Tommy Deyton, the deacons and Trustees of New Liberty Free Will Baptist Church.
