- SHADY VALLEY, Tenn.– Mrs. Alvin (Sue) Barry, age 82, of 1579 Highway 133, passedaway on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2003, at Bristol Regional Medical Center, BristolTennessee.She was a native of Johnson County, Tenn., and was the daughter of the lateIsaac Clemens Blevins and Gertie Mae Long Blevins. She was preceded in death byher husband, Alvin York Barry. Mrs. Barry was a member of the Crandull Church ofChrist, Shady Valley.She is survived by one daughter, Linda Miller, of West Jefferson, N.C.; one son,Tony Barry, of Shady Valley; one brother, R. Berry Blevins, of Shady Valley;four grandchildren, Anthony, Greg, Matt and Kerry; five great-grandchildren,Kiana, Joseph, Lindsey, Michael and Jennifer; and several nieces and nephews.The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2003, at theCrandull Church of Christ in Shady Valley, with Mr. Vergil Cretsinger, Mr. KirkSams and Mr. John Cotham officiating. Interment will follow the service in theBlevins Cemetery, Shady Valley. Pallbearers will be Roger Blevins, Dan Manuel,Steve Hicks, Randy McQueen, Bill Manuel and Dennis Honaker. Honorary pallbearerswill be Olan Bentley, Harry Bentley, Vance Gentry and Elwood Cretsinger. In lieuof flowers, the family requests that memorial donations may be sent to the Tri-Cities School of Preaching, c/o Stoney Creek Church of Christ, 1162 Highway 91,Elizabethton, TN 37643. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00 p.m.Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2003, at the Crandull Church of Christ. The family would liketo express a special thanks for all the outstanding care provided by Judy Jones,Rosella Fletcher, Angela Brown, Beverly Roark and Vannie Read.
