- JOHNSON CITY - Anna Marie Rumbley Kellum Gough 94, of Johnson City went home to be with the Lord Thursday May 31, 2018 at NHC Health Care.
Born October 9, 1923, she was the daughter of the late George and Ruby Hughes Rumbley of Piney Flats, TN.
She is preceded in death by her first husband Dr.Dennis Kellum, her son Steve Kellum, her parents George "Carl" and Ruby Rumbley, and her sister Lucille Rumbley Hankla.
She is survived by her husband George Dalton Gough; son Michael Kellum (Karie); granddaughters, Kristi Kellum Morris (Tracey), Brianna Kellum, Taylar Hayes; grandson, Steve Alan Kellum, Jr. (Treva); great-grandchildren, Katie Harris, Zackarey Morris, Anthony Faw, and Kahron Hayes; and sister Ruth Rumbley Sluder. Step-children, Ken Gough (Sheila), Janie Whittimore (Terry), Myra Paessler (Sparky) and seven step grandchildren and four great step grandchildren.
Marie graduated from Mary Hughes in 1939 and Johnson City Business College in 1941. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and was active in many areas, including her circle and the music programs. Marie played both the piano and organ.
Marie was a volunteer at the Johnson City Medical Center for 55 years, with a total of 22, 656 volunteer hours. Before her marriage to Dr. Dennis Kellum in 1948 she was employed by Parks Belk department store. She was also a member of the First Families of Tennessee.
A visitation will be held at The First United Methodist Church, 900 Spring St. Johnson City, Sunday, June 3, 2018 from 2:00 pm – 4:00pm with a service to follow at 4:00pm. A graveside will be held at Monte Vista Monday, June 4, 2018 at 11:00 am.
