Mr. Congdon was a WW II Army veteran with the 922 Engineer Aviation Regiment and a recipient of the American Theater Ribbon with five bronze stars, Good Conduct medal and Victory medal.
Mr. Congdon retired from the Clinchfield Railroad after 30 years of service. He was a participant of Civilian Conservation Corps. and a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers # 919.
He was preceded in death by two brothers; Fred and Edmond Congdon
