He was a native of Sullivan County and a member and elder of Bunker Hill Christian Church. He was a U.S. Army Air Corp veteran of world War II serving in the European Theater, 844th Aviation Engineer Battalion. Survivors include his wife, Ollie Shipley Perry; a daughter, Donna Osborne, Piney Flats; four sons, Kenny Perry, Michael Perry and Steve Perry, all of Bluff City, Troy Lee Perry, Elizabethton; a brother, Edward Perry, Bluff City; two sisters, Clara Scalf and Valvie Glover, both of Bluff City; two sisters-in-law; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
