- Neeses - Vernon Williams, 79, of Neeses, died Tuesday, May 30, 2006. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, June 1, at Mount Beulah Pentecostal Holiness Church, with the Rev. Henry Chavis and the Rev. Eddie Wilson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The casket will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. Pallbearers will be Donald L. Nettles, Frank Williams, Raymond Hutto, Henderson Williams, Jonathan Shugerts, and Timothy Hutto. Honorary pallbearers will be the Men's Bible Class of Mount Beulah. Mr. Williams was born in Neeses, a son of the late Samson Williams and Mary Etta Chavis Williams Boyd. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a Mason. He attended Mount Beulah Pentecostal Holiness Church and the Men's Fellowship. He was a retired chicken farmer and a former auto mechanic. Survivors include his wife, Virginia Hudson Williams of the home; a daughter, Betty June Yaun of Aiken; two sons, Jimmie Lee Leach and Vernon Kyle Williams, both of Neeses; a sister, Louise Hodges of Charlotte, N.C.; a stepbrother, John Henry Boyd of Georgia; two stepdaughters, Shirley Salley of Springfield and Connie Dale of Neeses; three stepsons, Jimmy Earl Hutto and John Samuel Hutto, both of Springfield, and William Burgess Hutto of Neeses; four grandchildren; 14 step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and 12 step-great-grandchildren.
