- Carolyn Jane Gentry, age 67, of Laurel Bloomery, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, April 1, 2018 at the Johnson City Medical Center. She was born on March 5, 1951 to Opal Greer and the late Odell Greer. In addition to her father, Carolyn was preceded in death by a sister, Anne Dolinger.
Those left to cherish her memories include her husband of 47 years, Dean Gentry; sons: Dean Gentry and wife Bonnie, Justin Gentry and wife Malori; brothers: Bill Greer, Ogene Greer, Gary Greer and Larry Greer; grandchildren, Austin Gentry and Parker Gentry; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at the Greencove Baptist Church. Funeral service will follow at 8:00 p.m. with Pastor Dennis Poe and Pastor Harlen Greer officiating. Graveside service and interment will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the Stateline Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Trace Dolinger and Tracy Dolinger.
