- Billy Joe Bradshaw Sr., 75, of Johnson City, died Saturday, September 9, 2006, at his residence.
A native of Carter County, he was the son of the late John Edward and Zella Jewell Osborne Bradshaw.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Barbara A. Hodge Bradshaw, March 20, 2006, and an infant brother, Jimmy Bradshaw.
Mr. Bradshaw served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict in 1950-1954.
He worked as a mechanic for Rainbo Bakery for 36 plus years.
Mr. Bradshaw was an avid fisherman and hunter and also a member of the Gamecock Club.
He was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church in Elizabethton.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Debora Pate and Jessie Dean Pate Sr. and Sharon and Bruce Hall, all of Johnson City, and Lisa and Ronald Ragan of Gray; a son, Billy Joe Bradshaw Jr. of Johnson City; a sister, Jean Carolyn Johnson of Elk Hart, Ind.; six grandchildren, Jessie Dean Pate Jr., Heather Nunley, Andy Hall, Joshua Ragan, Marsha Bradshaw and Billie Bradshaw, and a step-grandchild, Joey Culbert; five great-grandchildren, Tempia Kate Nunley, Allison Rose Nunley, Emmalee Grace Nunley, Macie Nunley and Shannon LeAnn Bradshaw; and a special niece and nephew, Martha Shatley and Johnny Crowe Jr.
A Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Bradshaw will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday, September 12, in the Sunrise Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Services, Johnson City, with Rev. C.W. Snodgrass officiating and Martha Shatley delivering the eulogy. Music will be under the direction of The Dugger Family. The family will receive friends in the funeral chapel from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the service.
The committal and graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 13, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Everyone is asked to meet at the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. to go in procession to the cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Tim Morrison, Ronnie Miller, Johnny Crowe III, Joey Culbert, Bill Skeens and Mathew Hite.
