- UNICOI - Mary Naomi "Moma Crackerbee" Guinn McInturff, age 87, Unicoi passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at the Unicoi County Memorial Hospital Long Term Care Unit.
She was a lifelong resident of Unicoi County and a daughter of the late George and Minta Foster Guinn.
Naomi was owner and operator of Crackerbees in Unicoi for many, many years. She loved running her business where she always enjoyed talking with friends, and making new friends as well. Naomi was known to most of her customers as Moma Crackerbee.
She was a member of Unicoi United Methodist Church where she was actively involved for more than fifty years. Over those years, Naomi served as Youth Leader, Choir Director, Choir Member and Sunday School Teacher. She loved her church and her church family, and they loved her as well.
Naomi was always very involved in her community and she loved her community. She was known for her generous, giving heart. Naomi was a wonderful cook and well known for her absolutely delicious chocolate pies and banana pudding.
She was a loving, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. Naomi grew beautiful flowers and enjoyed working in her flower garden.
In addition to her parents, Naomi was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-seven years, Kenneth McInturff; three brothers: George, John and Kyle Guinn; one sister, Nila Pugh; grandson, Shepherd McInturff; great grandson, Samuel Rice and daughter-in-law, Lisa McInturff.
She leaves behind to cherish many wonderful memories, two sons: Terry Kent McInturff, Kevin McInturff and wife, Susan; one daughter, Connie Rice and husband, Mike; one sister, Valdine Wadsworth, all of Unicoi; eight grandchildren: Aaron McInturff, Allon McInturff, Robert Rice and wife, Tiffany, Matthew Rice and wife, Jamie, Mary Glauer and husband, Seth, Jenny Rice and husband, Eric, Andrew McInturff; eleven great grandchildren: Ethan McInturff, Kaleigh and Alysa Wilson, Emily Rice, Lela Rice, Beau Rice, Mason & Abby Hemphill, Nila Rice, Henry Rice and soon to be born, Ira Jake Glauer; brother-in-law: Chester McInturff; sisters-in-law: Maureen Guinn and Hazel Berry; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside service will be held at 2:00 P. M. on Sunday, July 29, 2018 at Shepherd's Glen which is located just below Swingle Cemetery. Reverend Todd Adams and Reverend Mike Pinner will officiate. Pallbearers will be Aaron McInturff, Allon McInturff, Ethan McInturff, Robert Rice, Matthew Rice, Andrew McInturff, Seth Glauer, Matthew Shepard and Eric Rice. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at Shepherd's Glen by 1:45 P.M. The family request those who will be attending to dress casually and please wear blue or yellow, which were Naomi's favorite colors.
