- JOHNSON CITY - Mildred Ann Holly, 78, of Jonesborough, passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2018 in her home.
She was born in Carter County, a daughter of the late Ralph and Mary Miller Salts.
Mildred loved her family, especially her grandchildren, and was a hard worker throughout her life. She had attended service at the Johnson City Church of God.
Mildred is survived by her husband, Bobby J. Holly Sr., of the home; two sons, Bobby Holly Jr. and Angela B. Holly, and Scott Holly and his significant other, Penny Babb; one daughter, Debra Holly Bowman and her husband Kenneth; three brothers, Bob Salts, Lynn Salts, and Larry Salts and his wife Genevieve; six grandchildren, Mary Bowman Howell and her husband Jeremy Howell, Holly Bowman, Jacob Bowman, Paul Holly, Joshua Holly and Kayla Holly; great grandchildren, Nila Holly, William Bowman, Emma Howell, Joshua Jawayne Holly, Rose Holly, Kaydence Metcalf and Rayden Metcalf; several nieces and nephews; and her closest companion, Bobby the Chi-Pom.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by five brothers, Raymond Salts, Clyde Salts, Norman Salts, Bill Salts and Jim Salts; two sisters, Carol Terry and Hazel Salts; and her parents-in-law, Alva and Maimie Holly.
The family would like to thank the caring staff of Amedysis hospice, including special nurses: Corey Garland, Michael Byrd, and Shane Casey; chaplains Chris and Carl; as well as sitter and family friend, Nancy Elrod.
The family of Mildred Holly will receive friends at home in the days prior to service. A committal service will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 12:00 PM at Washington County Memory Gardens with Chaplain Chris Hughes officiating.
