- ELIZABETHTON - Edith H. Collins, age 91, of Elizabethton, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Friday, May 25, 2018 from the Christian Care Center in Blountville, Tennessee.
Edith was born in Carter County to the late Joe Brown Lewis and Dora Overbay Lewis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Jay Collins, in 1972; three sisters; and one brother.
Edith retired from Tri-State Container after 35 years of service and was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church in Elizabethton. She had served as a Pink Lady at Sycamore Shoals Hospital for 20 years and loved working in her yard and her flowers.
Those left to cherish her memory include two sons, Joe Collins and wife Brenda and Mike Collins and wife Kathy, all of Elizabethton; two grandchildren, Mark Collins and wife Jena and Cody Collins and wife Juliana, all of Elizabethton; six great grandchildren, Grace Ramazzini and husband Domenico, Luke Collins, Joseph Collins, Anna Collins, Sylvia Collins and Porter Collins; and three special friends, Dot "Ida" Oaks, Virginia McQueen and Hildred Lewis, all of Elizabethton.
A service to celebrate the life of Edith H. Collins will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Rev. Mark Collins officiating. Music will be under the direction of Jena Collins and Bobby Heaton. The family will receive friends from NOON until 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Tuesday; or at the residence, 146 Echo Drive, Elizabethton at other times.
The graveside service will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Mark Collins, Cody Collins, Luke Collins, Joseph Collins, Bobby Heaton, Tim Heaton and Chris Blevins. Honorary pallbearers will be her great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
