- He was the son of the late Charlie and Lester Perkins Potter. He was also preceded in death by a son, Kenny Potter, and a brother, William Paul Potter.
Mr. Potter had lived in the Cleveland, Ohio area for 40 years before returning to East Tennessee in 1988. He was a retired iron worker and a member of the Iron Workers Local 17 of Cleveland, Ohio.
He had served in the United States Army during World War II.
He was a member of Elk River Baptist Church, Butler.
Funeral services were conducted at 8:30 p.m. Thursday, January 3, 2002 at Memorial Funeral Chapel.
Graveside services and interment were at 1 p.m. Friday, January 4, 2002 in the Glennwood Cemetery, Bristol.
