A native of Avery County, she was born May 30, 1934 a daughter of the late Elijah and Rose Moody Puckett. She was a homemaker and a member of Heaton Christian Church. Along with her parents, Josie was preceded in death by her: husband, Homer P. Shell, Sr.; brothers, George Moody, Bill Puckett; sisters, Lear Puckett, Fannie Guinn, Maxine Puckett. Funeral services for Josie Geneva Shell will be conducted at the Heaton Christian Church with Mr. Brent Nidiffer officiating. Interment will follow in the Heaton Cemetery.
