- Nell Eastridge was born March 8, 1931 in Wytheville, Virginia. She was a graduate of Towson State College in Towson, MD with a B.S. degree in 1974. She graduated from Towson State University in Towson, MD with a Master's of Education in 1981.
Nell started her career in the Payroll Department at Rutherford Freight Lines in Bristol, VA from 1948-1953. She then worked in the Payroll Department at Sperry Farragut Company in Bristol, TN from 1953-1957. It was at Sperry where she met her husband of 65 years, Roby Eastridge.
She then moved to Maryland where she began her career in Education. She started in the St. Mary's County School System from 1958-1965. She then worked in the Baltimore City School System for 25 years from 1968-1993. She taught at Cherry Hill Elementary and then Westport Elementary as a 1st and 2nd grade teacher. She was a member of Kappa Delta Pi, International Honor Society in Education.
She spent 34 years in a supporting role as Pastor's wife in United Methodist Churches in the Holsten Conference in Tennessee and the Baltimore Conference in Maryland. Since retirement, she was a member of Munsey United Methodist Church in Johnson City, Tennessee.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Roby H. Eastridge. She is survived by her two Sons, Jeffrey Eastridge and Jonathan Eastridge and her Granddaughter, Elisabeth Eastridge.
Nell Eastridge died on April 12, 2018 at Encore at Turf Valley Assisted Living in Ellicott City, MD.
A Memorial Service will be held at Glen Mar United Methodist Church in Ellicott City, MD on May 12, 2018 at 11am. A reception for family and friends will immediately follow the service.
