LIPFORD, W. E.
…78, died at his home Dec. 30, from a heart condition. The funeral was held Jan. 3, at the home with Rev. Noah Riddle officiating. Burial was in the Powell Cemetery.
A member of the Christian Church, Mr. Lipford is survived by seven children, Emmitt Lipford, Mountain City, Glenn Lipford, Jeffersonville, Ind., Marvin Lipford, Shouns, Mrs. Maybell Pope, Jeffersonville, Ind., Mrs. Della Howard and Miss Nell Lipford, both of Shouns, and Mrs. Lorraine Johnson, Carderview.
Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Alice Phillips, Somerset, Ky., Mrs. Jane Jackson, Big Four, W. Va., Mrs. Tisha Gentry, Burn, Ore., Mrs. Lizzie Vespa, Mendota, Va.; two half-sisters, Mrs. Stella Whitaker, Mountain City and Mrs. Nellie Owens, Laurel Bloomery; two brothers, Sherman Lipford and B. V. Lipford, both of Shouns; two half-brothers, Vada[sic] Lipford, Shouns and Ray Lipford, Burn, Oregon.
