- Frances I. Hopson Stout, 85, formerly of Jonesborough, Tenn., passed away Thursday, April 4, 2019, at Durham Hensley Nursing Home in Chuckey, Tenn. She was the daughter of the late Bill and Ailene Nave Hopson and was a native of Carter County.
Frances was a charter member of Community Baptist Church, Jonesborough.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul J. Stout, on November 4, 1995; a brother, Arlin E. Hopson; and a sister, Geraldine Hodge.
Those left to cherish her memory include three sons, Glenn Stout and wife Ethelene, Ronnie Stout and wife Darlene and Gary Stout and wife Betty, all of Limestone, Tenn.; three granddaughters, Beth Pugh and husband Todd, Limestone, Tenn., Dionne Ganger and husband Ted, Johnson City, Tenn., and Kelli Goetzke and husband Drew, Telford, Tenn.; three great-granddaughters, Makenzie Williams, Chloe Ganger and Macy Ganger; and a sister, Ruby Vandergriff and husband Clyde, Elizabethton, Tenn. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A graveside service to honor the life of Frances I. Hopson Stout will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 7, in the Caldwell Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Lynn Neas officiating. Music will be under the direction of Mr. Jerry Barnett. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Everyone attending will meet at the cemetery at 2:50 p.m. Sunday for the graveside service. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of Durham Hensley Nursing Home for their loving care of Mrs. Stout.
