- Frances Eastridge, age 96, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, June 16, 2018. She is preceded in death by her husband, Hacker Eastridge, her parents, Lottie Tester Dunn and George Dunn, sisters Jane Hodge, Pauline Icenhour, Opal Woodward, Lynn Payne, Ann Drinnon, brother, Raymond Dunn and son-in-law, Dennis Burgess.
Survivors include her four children, Kate Burgess, Nancy Eastridge, Junior and wife, Patricia Eastridge, Patti Clark, five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Special friends were Ann Pennington, Phyllis Rominger, Linda Pardue and Pastor David Hankal.
After retiring from Burlington Industries, Frances and Hacker enjoyed "taking trips" with family. Some of their favorite places to visit were Hungry Mother Park, Backbone Rock, Tweetsie, and Carowinds. They also loved to visit out of state relatives. After she became a widow in 1985, Frances joined Senior Citizens and enjoyed quilting and taking trips with them.
Frances was a member of Roan Creek Baptist Church and attended regularly as long as her health permitted. She enjoyed crafts such as sewing, quilting, crocheting and making dolls. In her later years, she loved to work word search puzzles. Frances loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were her pride and joy and she loved to spoil them.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, June 24, 2018 at 3pm in the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel with Rev. David Hankal officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 pm – 3 pm prior to services at Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel. Graveside service and interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
Active Pallbearers will be Johnny Eastridge, David Eastridge, Shane Snyder, Andrew Hensley, Bob Heck, and Willie Arnold. Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons of Roan Creek Baptist Church.
