- Charlie A. Dyson, age 85, of 1331 Huggins Road, Mountain City, TN, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 20, 2005 at the Johnson City Medical Center following an extended illness. A native of Johnson County, TN, he was born December 2 1919 to the late Andy and Cora Forrester Dyson. Charlie was a World War II Veteran having served in the U.S. Army. He was a farmer and loved to hunt and fish.
Survivors include his wife, Lucy Phillips Dyson of the home; two daughters; Carol Gilley and Jody Farmer and husband Gale, all of Mountain City, TN,; two sons; Charles Dyson and wife Linda, Mountain City, TN; Daryl Dyson and wife Margie, Holden Beach, NC; two sisters; Mary Woods and Katherine Dyson, both of Mountain City, TN; one brother, Andy Dyson Jr., Mountain City, TN; Nine Grandchldren and Fourteen Great Grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services for Charlie A. Dyson will be held at 8:00 p.m. Monday, May 23, 2005, from the Hux-Tetrick funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Bentley and Rev. Bruce Simcox to officiate. Military Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2005 from the Donnelly Cemetery and will be accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Jamie Gilley, Junior Gilley, Charlie Dyson, Timmy Potter, Kenny Greer, and Ike Hewett.
A visitation will be held from 6 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, May 23, prior to the funeral service at Hux-Tetrick Funeral Home. At other times, friends may call at the residence, 1331 Huggins Road, Mountain City, TN. 37683.
