- Betty Jean Estep, age 73, of Elk Park, NC passed away on Friday, July 20, 2018, at her residence.
She was born on March 4, 1945, in Avery County, North Carolina, a daughter of the late Conley Estep and the late Hazel Estep.
Betty Jean worked for many years at IRC, Shadowline and Grandfather Golf and Country Club. She was a very special mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who cared for others more than herself.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two Aunts: Shelby Jean Oaks, Melba Julian; Four half Brothers: Bill Mottern, Freddy Mottern, Kenny Presnell, Benny Presnell; Step Mother: Bertie Estep.
Betty Jean leaves behind to cherish her memory her Husband of 55 years, Pat Estep of Beech Mountain, NC; Son: Daryl Estep of Beech Mountain, NC; Daughter: Diane Estep of Mountain City, Tenn., Son: Michael (Sherry) Estep of Fall Creek, NC; Daughter: Michele (Derick) Turbyfill of Sugar Grove, NC; Daughter: Rebecca Pukansky of Vilas, NC; Brother: Keith Presnell of Sugar Grove, NC; Brother: Bobby (Patti) Presnell of Vilas, NC; 13 grandchildren. five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 22, 2018. Graveside services will follow on Monday morning at 11 a.m. in the Stines Cemetery on Buckeye Road on Old Beech Mountain.
