- Dreda M. Atwood, 79 years of age, became Our Gift to God on Saturday August 6, 2016 in Aurora, Ohio. Mrs. Atwood was God's Gift to Us on July 27, 1937 in Coshocton, Ohio the daughter of the late Harry and Elsie (Benson) Hook.
A homemaker, Mrs. Atwood had been a Mantua area resident the past 53 years, and was a longtime member of the Blackhorse Baptist Church. Mom enjoyed cooking, gardening and listening to jazz music.
On October 28, 1956, she married George J. Atwood, Sr. who preceded her in death on July 18, 2007. Also preceding was her son David A. Atwood in 2003, her daughter Rachael M. Fox in 2004, and her brother Jack Hook and sister Shirley Leisure. Survivors include her son, daughter, 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be Wednesday from 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St. Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255, where her funeral service will be held Thursday August 11, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev Tom Mesaros officiating. Final resting place will follow at Westlawn Cemetery, Mantua Township, Ohio.
