- Mrs. Lola Esther Broyles, 77, 549 Piercetown Rd., Butler, died Monday, April 20, 1998, at her residence.
She was a Carter County native and a daughter of the late William Crumley and Cora Presnell Pierce.
Mrs. Broyles was a former employee of Bemberg Corporation, Elizabethton.
She was a member of Pierce Baptist Church.
Mrs. Broyles was a member of Butler Chapter No. 218 of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter "Paige" Broyles, Sept. 24, 1997, and five sisters.
Survivors include two daughters, Margie White, Taylor, S.C., and Helen Stout, Elizabethton; two sons, Wayne Broyles, Elkhart, Ind., and Danny Broyles, Elizabethton; one sister, Jean Perry, Butler; three brothers, Ray Pierce, Gaston Pierce and W. C. Pierce, Jr., all of Butler; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Oddis Dugger and the Rev. Harvey White officiating. Graveside services and interment will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Butler Memorial Cemetery.
Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the cemetery at 10:55 a.m. Friday will be Jackie Pierce, Steve Pierce, John Pierce, Todd Perry, Eddie Perry and Larry Garland.
The family would like to say a special thanks to her care givers. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence at any time Thursday. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at 10:55 a.m. Friday.
