- HAMPTON - Elsie Reba Simerly Fritts, 77, Hampton passed away Thursday, March 29, 2018 in the Johnson City Medical Center after a brief illness.
A native of Wharton, West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late William & Mary Ann Peters Simerly. She had lived most of her life in Carter County. She was a homemaker. Elsie was a member of the Rittertown Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Von Austin Fritts who died January 20, 2018, by three brothers: Joe, Bobby & James Simerly and a sister: Helen Smith. Her hobbies include cooking, sewing, puzzle books & reading.
Survivors include her children: James Fritts & wife Donna, Elizabethton and Reba Shreve & husband Gregory, Matthews, North Carolina. Five Grandchildren: Robbie Fritts, Christopher Shreve, Whitney Shreve, Chris Fuller & wife Melissa & Robert Fuller. Her great grandchildren: Dylan, Haylee, Alexis, Makenzie, Ashton and Chelsea Fuller. One Sister: Wilma Hill, Hampton. Her brother-in-law: Harold Fritts & wife Priscilla, her sisters-in-law: Mary Colbert and Special Friend, Karen Fisher. Several nieces & nephews.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Monday April 2, 2018 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Terry Richardson officiating. Interment will follow in the Rittertown Baptist Church Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Boyd Smith, Richard Smith, Bobby Joe Taylor, Freddie Shreve, E.J. Blevins, Andy Arnett and Duck Stout. The family would like to express a special "Thank You" to the staff of 2300 Wing, Johnson City Medical Center.
