- Mildred Katherine Morley Shoun, 90, 4289 Highway 67 West, Mountain City, Tenn., died Friday, Feb. 23, 2001, in the Johnson City Medical Center, Johnson City, Tenn.
She was a Johnson County, Tenn., native, and she was a daughter of the late L. B. and Melissa McQueen Morley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Burley Herbert Shoun, who died in 1966, one son, Burley Joe Shoun, one great-granddaughter, Lauren Patterson, three brothers and five sisters.
Mrs. Shoun was a member of the Johnson County Historical Garden Club and the Doe Valley Home Demonstration Club. She was a volunteer with the Red Cross, and she was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son and his wife, Pete and Mary Shoun, Johnson City, Tenn.; one daughter and her husband, Bonnie and Jim Patterson, Johnson City, Tenn.; one sister, Evelyn Plantz, Elizabethtown, Penn.; one daughter-in-law, Carol Shoun, Lenoir, N.C.; special friends, Lonnie and Barbara Baird, Mountain City, Tenn.; and Jim and Sue Hensley, Mountain City, Tenn.; eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Percy-Hux Funeral Home, 423-727-9221, 300 Main Street, Mountain City, Tenn., is in charge of arrangements.
SHOUN--Funeral services for Mildred Katherine Morley Shoun, 90, 4289 Highway 67 West, Mountain City, Tenn., who died Friday will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday from the First Baptist Church with the Revs. Norman Reece and Larry DeVault officiating. Interment will follow in the Burley Shoun Cemetery. Pall bearers will be Herb Patterson, Pat Patterson, David Patterson, Michael Shoun, Keith Setzer, Scott Cribbs, and Joe McPherson.
