- William C. Tester, 92, 919 Medical Park Drive, Mountain City, formerly of 1091 Sandy Road, Mountain City, died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2002 at the Mountain City Care Center after an extended illness. Mr. Tester was a native of Johnson County and a son of the late Stacy and Alice Mains Tester. He was a member of Locust Gap Freewill Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his wife, Dollie Triplett Tester, September 24, 1965, one son, Billy Glenn Tester, April 8, 1945; one daughter, Arlene Tester Burgess, July 7, 1999; two grandsons, Terry Marilock, May 1997, and D.C. Burgess, July 1983; two brothers, Jack and Robert Tester; four sisters, Zilda Mains, Connie McElyea, Lucy Arnold, and Blanche Morefield.
Survivors include five daughters; Margie Trivette, of Bristol; Christine and husband Jack Marilock, of Kingsport; Jean Lewis, of Mountain City; Lois Tester, of Mountain City; Joyce and husband, Jack Bradley, of Butler; two sons, Robert "Bob" and wife, Mary Tester, of Trade; Dennis and wife Jeannie Tester, of Trade; two sisters, Nell and husband, Duff Arnold, of Mountain City; Sally Blevins, of Michigan; one brother, George Tester of Haver De Grace, Maryland; 14 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services for William Claude Tester will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday, September 26, 2002 at the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ted Lewis and Rev. Frank Woods officiating. Music will be provided by Danny Rhymer and Jerry Horne. Family and friends are ask to meet at the Hux-Lipford funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 27, 2002 to go in procession to Pleasant Grove cemetery for graveside services and interment at 11 a.m.
