- William "Bud" Madison Andes, 80, of Elizabethton, Tenn., passed away on Monday, October 23, 2017, at his residence.
He was the son of the late William Worley and Mattie Stout Andes and the grandson of the late Charles and Cecila Jane Trivitte Andes. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Sheryl Andes; one daughter, Pam Andes; and his brother, Jim Andes.
Mr. Andes was born by a mid-wife and had a twin that passed at birth. He was raised in the Poga/Hampton area. He graduated from Hampton High School in 1955. He honorably served his country in the Army beginning in 1956 and was stationed in Germany.
Mr. Andes was a butcher most of his life and owned several meat stores during his career. He loved fishing and working on anything that had a motor. He also loved spending time with his dog Fidget and cat Bonnie.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Angie Andes Oliver and boyfriend, Terry Cox, Tracy Andes Bishop and husband Jim, Randy Andes, Micaline Andes, Vickie Andes Browning and husband Dale, and Billy Andes. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Zack Quade, Scotty Oliver, Faith Bishop and several more. Mr. Andes left behind brothers and sisters, Larry Andes and wife Becky, Linda Stevens and husband Dennis, Buster Andes and wife Wanda, and Roger Andes and wife Debbie. Special friends left to cherish his memories are Jennifer Peterson and Ed "Eddie Rabbit" Gentry and his wife Linda. The family would like to thank everyone for listening, understanding, caring and always being there for our Dad.
Services "To sit and tell some tales" (something our Father loved to do), will be held at The American Legion in Elizabethton, Tenn., at 6 p.m. Monday, November 6. The address for the American Legion is 111 S. Watauga Ave. Interment will be Tuesday, November 7, in the Stout Cemetery.
