- Lockie Maxine "Pansy" Guy, 81, of Butler, passed away Saturday, March 3, 2012, at Life Care Center of Elizabethton.
A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Polly Hill Williams.
Mrs. Guy was retired from General Motors of Pontiac, Mich. She had also lived in Florida. She was a member of Piney Grove Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred E. Guy, in 1988, and two sisters, Vorita Shelton and Lula Mae Harrell.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Alfred Eugene and Kimberly Guy, Rotonda West, Fla., and Counce Henry and Penny Guy, Johnson City; a daughter and son-in-law, Vorita and George Persinger, Ortonville, Mich.; her life partner, Joe Richardson; two brothers, Charles Williams, Johnson City, and George Williams, Hampton; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Carl Cable.
Funeral services for Mrs. Guy will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. Dean Estep, minister, officiating. Music will be by the congregation. Graveside services and interment will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 8, in the Piney Grove "Poga" Cemetery. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Thursday, will be Robbie Barlow, Kenny Williams, Mike Williams, Patrick Garland, Wayne Lowe, Johnny Garland and Richard Shelton. Honorary pallbearers will be Ed Harrell, Chuck Williams, Gary Guy, Terry Cable, Opal Cable, Dillon Barlow, George Persinger II and James Guy Jr.
