JAMES E. SHOUN
James E. Shoun, 70, of Elizabethton, died at his home July 16, after a long illness.
He was a native of Butler but had lived in Elizabethton for the past 15 years, a 32nd degree Mason and a former employee of a lumber company in Bristol.
Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Mary Eva Chambers Shoun; one son, James E. Shoun, Jr., of Columbia, S. C.; and two sisters, Mrs. R. W. Waynick of Chicago, Ill. and Mrs. Nelta Dougherty of Erwin.
Funeral services were held Friday at 3:00 p.m. at the First Christian Church with J. J. Musick and M. Paul Knapp officiating.
Burial was in Happy Valley Memorial Park.
The music was in charge of Mrs. T. N. Williams, Phyllis Beck and Luther Hampton.
Pallbearers were Bob Eggers, Frank Stevens, Paul Wilson, Glenn Boatwright, Jr., Steadman Greever, Bud Shoun, Glenn Fender, Fred Moore, and Charlie Perry.
