- ELIZABETHTON - Conway (J.C.) Wilson, 90, Elizabethton passed away Monday, February 19, 2018 at his residence following an extended illness.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Sol & Sarah Hayes Wilson. He was a graduate of Unaka High School. He served in the United States Army during World War II and served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. Conway was a former employee of North American Rayon Corporation, the Carter County Sheriff Department, a school bus driver and C & K Auto Sales. He attended Union Hill Free Will Baptist Church and First Free Will Baptist Church. Conway was a member of Dashiell Masonic Lodge # 238. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years: Ruth Nave Wilson, a son: Ora Dale Wilson, seven brothers: Mike, Vernon, Kay, Lonnie, Ernest, Grady & Ed Wilson and one sister: Ina Ward.
Survivors include a daughter: Kennetha Marshall, Johnson City, a son: Gary Wilson & wife Sharon, Kingsport. Three Grandchildren, Kimberly Buck, Elizabethton, Ericka Marshall, Nashville and Kasey Duncan, Kingsport. Four Great Grandchildren: Chase Buck, Kaelyn Duncan, Keaton Duncan and Avery Duncan. Two Brothers: Ralph & Arlie (Skip) Wilson. Two Sisters: Carolyn Milam, Johnson City and Liz Mercer of Texas. Several nieces & nephews. His "Special Family" Keith & Ann, Monty Lyons and Fonz & Misty Cecil and Charlotte Farrington.
A Service to celebrate the life of Conway Wilson will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Mausoleum of Peace, Happy Valley Memorial Park with Pastor Nathan Jennings officiating. Music will be provided by Sharon Wilson. Active Pallbearers will be: Keith Lyons, Monty Lyons, Fonz Cecil, Chase Buck, Chuck Milam and Keith Wilson. The family would like to express a special "Thank You" to Emily, Shannon, Jerry, Scott, of Amedisys Hospice. Dr. Jeff Hopland and Dr. Steven Hopland and Dr. Famoyn and staff at Quality of Life and Dr. Kahn for all the help they gave to the family during Conway's illness
