- ERWIN - Lucille (Justice) Davis, age 86, of Erwin, passed away after a brief illness, on Friday, December 22, 2017 at the Johnson City Medical Center.
Mrs. Davis was born in Mars Hill, North Carolina, a daughter of the late Thomas Joshua "T.J." and Ethel (Rice) Justice. She is a member of Centenary United Methodist Church. Lucille was a loving wife and mother and a hard worker. She was very friendly and always wanted to do the right thing. She enjoyed spending her winters in Florida, keeping in touch with family and friends and being a part of her book club. In addition to her parents, Lucille is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Rod Davis; her brother, O. D. Davis; and her sister, Elazene Rice.
Lucille (Justice) Davis leaves behind to cherish her memory: Son: Greg Davis, of Erwin; Daughters: Melanie Luchansky and husband Paul, of Sharpsburg, GA; Jennifer Hawes, of Clifton Forge, VA; Grandchildren: Michelle Rucker and husband Joshua, of Clifton Forge, VA; Ashley Auld and husband Jason, of Coconut Creek, FL; Lindsey Luchansky, of Dawsonville, GA; Special friends: Elizabeth Franklin; Marion Davis; 2 Great-Grandsons; Several nieces and nephews; Others in her circle of friends.
The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Lucille (Justice) Davis in a funeral service to be held at 12:00 PM, Wednesday, December 27, 2017, in the chapel at Valley Funeral Home. Reverend David Crutchfield will officiate. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 11:00 AM and continue until the time of service on Wednesday December 27, 2017. A committal service will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
