- Mrs. Ruth Farthing Bunton, 85, of Elk Park, widow of Mr. Clyde Bunton, died Monday afternoon, November 6, 1995 at Life Care Center in Banner Elk.
She was born December 4, 1909 in the Green Valley community of Watauga County, a daughter of the late Joe and Ida Harmon Farthing. She was a member of Mount Gilead Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, one brother and one sister. She is also survived by five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.
Services were Wednesday afternoon at Mount Gilead Baptist Church with the Rev Jerry McCory and the Rev Arnt Greer officiating. Burial followed in the Mount Gilead Church cemetery
