- Ambrose Loyd Vanover, age 66, of Wamego, Kansas and formerly of Mountain City, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at his residence. He was born in Mountain City, TN on July 2, 1946 to the late David Vanover and Ellaree Vanover.
Ambrose was a mechanic and had worked as a house mover. He was a humble, loving and wonderful man who loved his family and will truly be missed.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Marie Goudy Vanover; daughter, Donna Miller of KS; sons: Michael Vanover and wife Theresa of Blountville, TN and David Vanover of KS; sisters: Carolyn Davis and husband Howard of Creston, NC and Debbie Vanover of Mountain City; brothers: Victor Vanover of KS, Dayton Vanover and wife Carolyn of Mountain City, TN Kenneth Vanover and wife Teresa of Elizabethton, TN, Johnny Vanover of Johnson City, Orville Vanover, James Vanover, both of Mountain City and David Vanover and wife Susan of KS; grandchildren: Michael Vanover, Tyler Hodge, Nicole Vanover, Madison Vanover, Amber Miller, Carrie Vanover, Trent Williams, Hope Vanover, and Courtney Medley and several nieces and nephews and cousins.
The family received friends from 1-2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at Mountain City Funeral Home with the funeral service following at 2:00 p.m. with Preacher Kenny Ray Vaught officiating.
Graveside Service & Interment followed in Sunset Memorial Park, pallbearers were family and friends.
