- Brad McQueen, 96, 841 Sink Valley Road, Butler, passed away On Saturday, January 31, 2009, at his residence.
Brad was born in Johnson County, Tenn., on February 6, 1912 to the late Isaac Wade and Hattie Luvenia Stout McQueen. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lillie Taylor McQueen, a grandson, B.J. Snyder, and several brothers and sisters.
Brad was a member of Cobbs Creek Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, coon hunting and carpentry work. He was a retired farmer.
Survivors include one daughter, Kathy Perkins and husband Ron of Butler, one Kenneth Ray McQueen and girlfriend Leslie Hall and son Tyler of Butler; one sister, Hazel McQueen Johnson of Elizabethton; one brother, James T. McQueen of Sevierville, four grandchildren, Heather Johnson and husband Jason, Christy Reece and husband Bruce, Sara Perkins and Ryan Perkins; two great-grandchildren, Ally Reece and Bruce Reece Jr.; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Stephanie Barry.
The funeral service for Mr. McQueen will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Monday, February 2, at Mountain City Funeral Home with Pastor Alan Koch and Pastor Harvey White officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. Monday, prior to the service. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 3, at Happy Valley Memorial Park in Elizabethton. Active pallbearers will be Ronnie Perkins, Wade McQueen, Eric Matherly, Jim Bragg, Bruce Reece and Jason Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Clark, Jay Matherly, Theron Johnson, Jack Slemp, Tom Garland and Lloyd Dugger.
