- Juanita Yelton Shuffler, a native of Mitchell County, born in Bakersville, North Carolina on April 22nd, 1930 to the late Bristoe & Ethel Yelton, went to be with her Lord on March 6th, 2018.
Juanita was a member of the Buladean Presbyterian Church and a member of the Bakersville Order of the Eastern Star (OES) for over 50 years. She loved gardening, birds and her life as a homemaker. Her gift for growing beautiful plants and flowers brought much joy to all.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, C.L. Shuffler; parents, brothers; George and James Yelton. Juanita was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Survivors include: her four children, Charles Ronnie Shuffler (Randy), Charlene Shuffler, Glenda Shuffler-Lester (Ron) and Brian Shuffler; three grandchildren, Mollie Lemonds (Tripp), Adam Shuffler and Brandon Shuffler; two great grandchildren, Bristoe and Case; three sisters, Marie Morgan, Edith Street, Shelby Street and many nephews and nieces. She will always be remembered as a kind, caring, giving person, one who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and will be missed by all.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm, Friday, March 9th, 2018, at Henline-Hughes Funeral Home, Bakersville, NC. A celebration of Juanita's life will be conducted at 1pm Saturday, March 10th, 2018 in the Buladean Presbyterian Church. Pastor Wanda Woodby will officiate the celebration. Graveside services will be held at Roselawn Memory Gardens, 3033 S. Roan St. Johnson City, TN following the celebration.
