- John Mike Ward, 84, Roan Mountain, passed away Friday, February 3, 2017 in Sycamore Shoals Hospital. A native of Avery County, North Carolina, he was a son of the late Benjamin & Vinna Flander Ward. He3 had been working with Mountain Crafts since the early 1960's. He was a member of the Flat Springs Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by seven brothers and one sister.
Survivors include his Wife: Della Fair Mann Ward, Life Care Center, and Elizabethton. One Son: Kelly Ward, Roan Mountain. Several nieces & nephews.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 7, 2017 in the Flat Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Brian Miller officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
