- Selma Bowers Conley passed away in Christ on Friday, May 5, 2017. Service: A memorial celebration will be held Saturday, June 3, 2017, at the Arlington Seventh-day Adventist Church, 4409 Pleasant Ridge in Arlington, Texas. Memorials: Memorials may be made to the Gayle Tucker Building Fund, Arlington SDA Church by calling 817-483-4837.. Selma was born and lived in Elizabethton, Tenn., for 16 years. She moved to Dallas, Texas, married Louis H. Evans in 1948. Together, they had six children. She married Howard S. Conley in 1979. Selma was a loving daughter, sister, mother, aunt, Nana, Grand-Nana, and good friend to countless people. She was a charter member of the Arlington SDA Church, helping to build the congregation from a 35-member church to one that is now over 2,300 members strong. After faithfully serving as the church secretary/treasurer for over 20 years, she retired in order to enjoy family and friends. She resided in Keene, Texas, the last two years of her life, where she was loved and cared for by many wonderful staff members of Chisholm Trail Estates. Selma was preceded in death by mother, Mary Elizabeth Williams; father, Emeril Bowers; brother, Eric Bowers; husband, Howard Conley; and grandson, Jonathan W Evans Jr. Survivors: She is survived by siblings: Joyce Bowers, James Bowers, Keith Bowers and Sandra Bowers Cederborg, She leaves behind her children: David H. Evans and wife, Jill, Donald L. Evans, Diane Trujillo and husband, Rudy, Mark A. Evans, Paul S. Evans and wife, Cindy, Jonathan W. Evans Sr. and wife, Terri. She was "Nana" to Rudy Jr., Melissa, Michael, Jonathan Jr., Na'Cole, James, Christopher, Chelsey, Justin, Brian, Josh, Alexis, and Emily, and their spouses. She was "Grand-Nana" to Lorelei, Blakely, Nathan, David, Makana, Eiligh, Duncan, Kane, Joe, Ryker, and Anela to arrive in July. She loved her many nieces and nephews as well.
