- JOHNSON CITY - Maud Proffitt, age 89, of Johnson City, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at NHC Healthcare.
Maud was born in Butler, Tennessee to the late Hobert and Fannie Wilson Osborne. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Loveless; three brothers, J.C. Osborne, Kenneth Osborne and Bill Osborne; and two sisters, Dean Barnett and Delores Cooper.
Maud was a homemaker and was a member of Oakland Avenue Baptist Church since 1973 and had served as a Sunday School teacher for 30 years. She loved to cook and enjoyed gardening.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving and devoted husband of 72 years, Ralph Proffitt, of the home; a son-in-law, Kenneth Loveless, of Johnson City; two grandchildren, Kenny Loveless (Suesi), of Johnson City and Michelle Warden (David), of Lynchburg, VA; two great granddaughters, Sarah Warden, of Richmond, VA and Amanda Warden, of Lynchburg, VA; two sisters, Shirley Street, of Cincinnati, OH and Linda Campbell, of Johnson City; one brother, Rick Osborne, of Johnson City; and several nieces and nephews.
A committal and entombment service to honor the life of Maud Proffitt will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 27, 2020 in the Mausoleum at Washington County Memory Gardens with Reverend Roy Yelton, officiating.
