- DAMASCUS, Va. Ruby G. Williams, age 88, passed away Friday, May 4, 2012, at the home of her daughter in Mountain City, Tenn. She was a life-long resident of Damascus and had resided the last four years with her daughter, Joan, in Mountain City. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Damascus. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, John R. Williams and her youngest son, David C. Williams. She is survived by her loving daughter, Joan Williams; and her son, Tim Williams; four grandchildren, Joshua Williams, Jon Williams, Laura Williams and Calvin Williams; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Sonya Proffitt. The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 6, 2012, at the graveside at Sunset Memorial Park in Damascus, with Pastors Dean Smith, Tom Prater and Wayne Guynn officiating.
