- Irene Dugger, age 82, of 919 Medical Park Drive, Mountain City, Tennessee and formally of 2084 Little Dry Run Road, Butler, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, May 16, 2005 following an extended illness. A native of Elizabethton, Tennessee, Irene was born on July 25, 1922 to the late Hubert and Stella Gentry McKinney. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Truman Dugger, who passed away in 1984 and one sister, Jane Isaacs, who passed away in 1986. She was a graduate of Elizabethton High School and enjoyed making candy, needle point, reading and gardening. Irene was a member of Midway Baptist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Karen Livingston and husband Lee of Butler, Tennessee; three sisters: Jenny Holsclaw of Greensboro, North Carolina, Shirley Harris of Liberty, North Carolina and Ruby Carter of Elizabethton, Tennessee; two brothers: George McKinney of Raifore, Florida and Thomas McKinney of Portsmouth, Virginia. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services for Irene will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2005 from the Midway Baptist Church with Pastor Greg Thompson to officiate.
Graveside Services and Interment will follow from the Sugar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active Pallbearers will be: Ernie Holsclaw, Ronnie Laws, David Ward, Doyle Tester, Larry Grindstaff and Don Brewer.
Honorary Pallbearers are: Paul Fletcher, Wayne Bradley, Blaine Fritts, Earl Morefield, Jerry Holsclaw and Chuck Morefield.
