- Mr. Billie Jack Glover, age 89, of Johnson City, TN passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2016 in NHC Health Care-Johnson City following a brief illness.
The family would like to express a special thank you to the NHC Health Care-Johnson City for the loving care given to Mr. Glover.
The families of Jack Glover will hold a Celebration of Life to honor the man who was special to so many. It will take place Saturday, September 3, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at the Fellowship Hall of Fall Creek Baptist Church, 4241 Beech Mountain Rd., Elk Park, NC.
Born May 22, 1927, Jack went to be with the Lord on July 13, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents Dave and Bess Glover, and a sister Georgia Ford.
He is survived by two sisters: Pearl (Kenneth) Jones and Betty (Bob) Townsend, both of Johnson City.
Jack's first wife, Nadine (Church) Glover, passed away, leaving him with three young children: Judy Kay Scott, David (Donna) Glover of Meadville, PA and Phillip Glover (deceased). At this time, Jack helped to create a new family, joining with his Aunt Mayzie Hagie (deceased), a widow with two children still at home: Stanley (Kathy) Hagie of Sylvan Beach, NY and Jean (Tim) Sherwood (deceased).
After many years, he met and married his second wife, Nadine (Hangartner) Glover (deceased). She was a widow with five children: George, Sam (Gwen), Anita (Wayne) D'Hondt, Darlene (Arthur) Platt, all of NY and Tim (Kim) Hangartner of Morristown, TN (deceased).
Jack became "Dad", "Papa", "Pop" or "Jackson" to all. He was also Grandpa to many including Christina (Robert) Warnock, Stephanie (Tom) McCaffrey, Jeff (Kim) Glover, Darryl (April) Glover, Silver Marie Glover, Ken (Glenda) Hagie, Madeline Sherwood, Aaron (Kelly) Sherwood, Emily (Chris) Byler, Nate (Sara) Zapp, Ginni Platt, Jeff Platt, Deanna (Tom) Poczciwinski, Sam Hangartner and Kyle, Aubrie and Tyler Hangartner. He had several great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. His nieces and nephews were special to him and he was known to some as "Our Tennessee Dad". He had a special "daughter", Deltah (Paul) Kleinhans, and remained close all his life to the siblings of his first wife: Vivian Schackow, Joyce Reece (deceased) and Ross, Dale, Hobert Jr. and Lowell Church.
