- Funeral services for CLYDE M. LIPFORD, 53, of Butler, veteran school teacher of Johnson county, who died Tuesday, at 9:30 a.m. at his home following a two weeks illness, were held Thursday at Sugar Grove Baptist Church, with Rev. Noah Riddle and Rev. Coy Riddle officiating. Interment was in the Sugar Grove Cemetery.
Mr. LIPFORD, who had taught 17 different schools in Johnson county, is survived by his widow, Mrs. Verna Mae LIPFORD; two sons, Mark Lipford of Winchester, Va., and Seaman First Class James Lipfor, stationed with the navy at Green Springs, Fla.; three daughters; Mrs. Ruby DUFF of Winchester, Mrs. Vivian BOBBITT of Knoxville, and Mrs. Connie THOMAS of Butler; one grandchild; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Grant LIPFORD of Shouns and Roy of North Oak, Va.
