- JOHNSON CITY - Edna Pearl Glover Jones, 88, Johnson City went home to be with her Lord, Saturday, January 6, 2018 in the Ivy Hall Nursing Home after an extended illness. A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Dave & Bess Emmert Glover. Mrs. Jones worked at TPI and retired from North Electric. She was a member of Zion Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter: Edna Ruth Terry, A Grandson: Jeff Buck, a Brother: Billy Jack Glover and a sister: Georgia Ford. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Survivors include her husband of 71 years: Kenneth Jones. A Son & Daughter-in-Law: Tony & Irene Jones, Johnson City. Four Grandchildren: Mark Jones, Brian Buck & Wife Tracie, Mooresville, NC., Tina Michelle Buck and friend, Mike Hughes, Elizabethton and Kim Reec & husband Anthony. Seven Great Grandchildren. A sister: Betty Townsend & husband Bobby, Johnson City. Her son-in-law: Edward Terry. Several nieces & nephews including a special niece; Judy Kay Scott.
A Service to Celebrate the life in Edna Jones will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Dr. Alan King officiating, and Pastor Bobby Stout officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 10, 2018 in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Music will be provided by Cindy Johnson. Active Pallbearers will be: Mark Jones, Anthony Reece, Brian Buck, Riley Buck, Mike Hughes, Jeff Townsend, Kevin Townsend and Bobby Townsend. Honorary Pallbearers will be her church family.
The family would like to express a special "Thank You" to Judy & Victor Deloach and the staff of Ivy Hall Nursing Home for the excellent care she received.
