- Ivory Hill Lewis, age 88, of Elizabethton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 3, 2015, at her residence.
Ivory was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late Dana and Ethel Connie Lacey Hill. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Raymond Keith Lewis, Sr. on December 16, 2007; a daughter, Linda Ivory Ramsey on May 2, 2009; a grandson, Wayne Davis II; a son-in-law, Wayne Davis; a half sister, Sally Pierce; and a half brother, Bill Hill.
Mrs. Lewis was a homemaker, but along with her husband, had previously owned and operated Lewis' Service Station. She was a member of Union Baptist Church and was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Davis, of Hampton and Glenna Morton, of Elizabethton; three sons and daughters-in-law, Ray Lewis, Jr. and wife Maxine and "Randy" Lewis and wife Eddie, all of Elizabethton, and Rex Lewis and wife Angela, Johnson City; six grandchildren, Wendi Kasting and husband Chris, Johnson City, John Ramsey, Jr. and wife Christa, Elizabethton, Ronnie Heaton, Jr. and wife Felicia, Elizabethton, Summer Morton, Ria Davis and Jessica Lindsey, all of Johnson City; ten great grandchildren; three half sisters, Mary Shultz and husband Bill, Lenoir City, Susie Moody and husband Bob, Butler, and Jane Lyons, Elizabethton; and two half brothers, Herman Hill and wife Kay, and Johnny Hill and wife Freda, all of Hampton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A graveside service to honor the life of Mrs. Ivory Hill Lewis will be conducted at 2:30 PM on Friday, February 6, 2015 in the Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Hampton, Tennessee, with Rev. Danny Bright, officiating. Active pallbearers will be John Ramsey, Jr., Ronnie Heaton, Jr., Chris Kasting, John Evan Ramsey, Ronald Ritchie, Daniel Lewis, Karl Grindstaff, Bill Shoun and Bobby Glover.
